Schwarzenegger Rethinks His Decision! 06-27-04  "So there were certain mistakes like this that I made, including for the mentally disabled people. This was one of those things…. So animals will be kept in the shelters for six days and so everything will stay exactly the same. We are not going to take anything away from the shelters."   For the LA Times story click HERE.

Schwarzenegger Is The Terminator In California!? 06-27-04  "Schwarzenegger has proposed a change in the law to allow birds, hamsters, potbellied pigs, rabbits, snakes, turtles and other animals that are not cats and dogs to be put to death immediately after capture if the shelter favors that approach, animal rights groups said."  For the newsgroup post that first alerted us to this situation click HERE.  For the LA Times story click HERE.

Sheetrock Warning!  It was brought to our attention that a breeder at the 2003 Puyallup Fair was recommending people use sheetrock in their rabbit living areas to help with the wearing of their rabbit's teeth and nails.  DO NOT USE SHEETROCK IN YOUR RABBITS LIVING AREA!  Our foremost concern is the material used in sheetrock causing impaction in your rabbit.  This is a painful condition for your bun and can be life threatening!  Sheetrock, which was never designed or graded for consumption, is made with a sugar type binder that your bun will be drawn to eat.  This will also encourage them to eat sheetrock elsewhere, including your walls.  If you have any questions or comments regarding this warning, please feel free to contact us here at Rabbit Haven by email.  sheetrockwarning@rabbithaven.org

The children have been at it again!  Children from the Silverdale area held a bake sale this weekend to add to the Pogo & Tess Medical Fund Drive with great success!  To read more about their wonderful efforts and generosity, please  CLICK HERE
