VETERINARY REFERRALS
Please phone if you’d
like to find a veterinarian qualified to treat your rabbit. We are finding
many veterinarians that are treating rabbits who are not qualified to do so.
If a veterinarian is not keeping up on the available literature, he/she will
not be aware of the latest antibiotics or the proper anesthesia to use, etc.
We have one list of veterinarians that we recommend for spay/neuter
surgeries and another list of veterinarians that are well schooled in all
phases of rabbit medicine. Unfortunately, this is not a very long list and
it has taken us considerable time to locate qualified doctors. If we give
you a doctor’s name within a clinic, ask for the doctor when you make an
appointment.
If your veterinary clinic treats rabbits, I’d like to add them to my mailing list so that I can send them periodic information on rabbit medicine. If we do not have a qualified veterinarian in your area, phone around before you need a doctor. Do not be afraid to ask questions (call us for help).
